Abstract
The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the effect of job characteristic and job satisfaction toward absenteeism of senior high school teachers in Bogor regency. The research used a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hyphotesis. It was conducted to 178 teachers as the respondents which were selected in a simple random way. The data analysis and interpretation reveals that (1) job characteristic has direct negative influence toward absenteeism, (2) job satisfaction has direct negative influence toward absenteeism, (3) job characteristic has direct positive influence toward job satisfaction
