Abstract
Artwork as part of cultural heritage, is the result of perceived thoughts and feelings that are thought of as expressions of intellectual artists who can explore and produce new works of art. The background in this investigation is the Sasak women and their work in the social structure of the Sasak culture which will be visualized as works of art through textiles, especially weaving. The method of creation uses the type of artistic research, that is, artists as researchers practice or work based on the results of investigations in the field in order to produce new works in the form of texts, discourses, and works of art. The creative process in realizing the work is divided into three parts, namely: (i) The process of collecting data, using the term underwater, namely “underwater”, (ii) The process of selecting data, using “critical” terms, and (iii) Creative processes, using dancing terms with soul, “dance ot the soul”. The visualized work through weaving along 15 (fifteen) meters is an exploration of "rasa" and essence as a woman who processes in building a family. Cotton yarn material and cotton flowers, the growth results of cotton plants that are well maintained, such as children in the family will grow and develop normally, if they live in a good family environment. Artwork as an embodiment of women in preserving tradition, shows motives that are formed due to abstract colored warp threads. Visualized motives become dynamic, magical, and centered. This is a metaphor of the nature of women, being transparent, floating, and meditative, in situations of magical and dramatic atmosphere. Artwork as a manifestation of women carrying out cultural arts, visualized from the realization of women's characteristics, becomes: playing, dimensioning, festive, dynamic, attractive and giving rise to new forms. Embodiment through a variety of weaving techniques with a blend of material that shows the results of old and new cultures so that they are dynamic and attractive.
